Overall Rating: 3 StarsOne of New Orleans Square's most overlooked restaurants is the Cafe Orleans, located across the way from the French Market and boasting the only other Monte Cristo sandwich available in the Disneyland Resort! For those who would like to go to the Blue Bayou but can't get reservations or don't like the prices, the Cafe Orleans is a great alternative and features its own one-of-a-kind New Orleans faire menu. |
Atmosphere: 4 Stars
I actually love the outdoor seating area of the Cafe Orleans. Right up against the walkway you have some great sight lines for people watching and you feel like you're at an authentic little bistro! There's plenty of shade around, too, between the umbrellas and the many trees surrounding the paths.
Food: 3 Stars
I love the food here! Don't see it as just an alternative to the Blue Bayou because the Cafe Orleans' menu is unique and features more bold traditional flavours. The pomme frites are coated in parmesan and garlic and the Monte Cristo, their pride and joy, is just as good as the Blue Bayou just not as expensive and with only one dipping sauce instead of three. And, for you veggies, they have a fantastic vegetable ragout!

Prices are very reasonable. Entrees range in price from $15-$25 so it's not much of a splurge and, many times, you may be able to get in without a reservation. Obviously they're recommended, but not as much as other places in New Orleans Square. If you haven't seen this little gem around before, look for it on your next trip for a fun night out!
