Overall Rating: 4 StarsThe quaint little Carnation Cafe is in the heart of Main Street, USA, and sets you in the heart of early 20th century America. Personally the breakfast is my favourite so I'm pretty much going to stick with that for now, but still check out their later meals and get that classic Disneyland charm. |
Atmosphere: 4 Stars
The setting is an indoor/outdoor cafe on a typical Victorian-American street, complete with rod iron, canopies and carnations on every table. Outdoor seating is the best since you can watch the hustle of Main Street from your table and drink in the period vehicles and other patrons as they walk by. Between those sights and the sounds of Main Street you can hear you become totally immersed in this environment!
To make things even cuter, the chef, a kindly older gentlemen, generally makes his rounds to greet the customers which adds to the old-world charm.

Food: 3 Stars
For breakfast, the food is excellent. I wouldn't necessarily say it's the best breakfast I've ever had, but they have some great options. The eggs Benedict are great with a fabulously light hollandaise and home style country potatoes. My favourite, however, are the apple granola pancakes. I swear, you don't even need syrup, but it does make it all the better! Don't doubt the chicken sausage, either, it's amazing! Then to top off your morning go for the cinnamon hot chocolate which is like a cup of magic!

This is actually one of the cheapest table - service dining options in the Disneyland Resort and it's not even terribly difficult to get a reservation. We've made reservations the day before and had times to choose from, but you could likely walk in and get a table. I've never even seen anything on the menu over $20, so it's great for some Disney magic on a budget. Add this to your plans for your next trip.
