Overall Rating: 3 StarsThe Plaza Inn may be well known in Disney circles for its fried chicken and down-home cooking for lunch and dinner, but a lesser known gem on its menu is its character breakfast hosted by the one and only Minnie Mouse. The food is good, but the experience is even better and extremely unique among character dining! |
Atmosphere: 4 Stars
The restaurant is impeccably themed and decorated to make you feel like you're in America at the turn of the 20th century and has fantastic views out to the Central Hub, Tomorrowland and down Main Street, USA. In reality the interior is rather small, but certainly seems large and you never feel cramped for space.
Breakfast adds even more to this atmosphere with the characters. Unlike every other character dining experience in the Disneyland Resort, the Plaza Inn breakfast boasts an incredible number of characters. On our last visit alone, we met:
The selection of characters always seems a bit random, but there's always a mixture to appeal to any and all children, girls and boys, young and old. Just because this breakfast is hosted by Minnie does not mean that the characters will favour young girls.

- Minnie Mouse (of course)
- Winnie the Pooh...
- ...and Tigger, too!
- Eeyore
- Chip
- Dale
- Pinocchio
- Geppetto
- Peter Pan
- Captain Hook
- and Rafiki

Food Quality: 2 Stars
As far as breakfast is concerned, there's nothing particularly special about the food. It's good, but it's nothing truly unique to the Plaza Inn and, though it's a buffet, the options are more limited than you'll find at many other buffets. There is an omelette station, so that's a plus.
Value: 3 Stars
The price for breakfast may seem a bit high, but it's actually slightly less than other character breakfasts throughout the resort. It's kind of worth it and is typically not incredibly busy. As far as lunch and dinner are concerned, the prices are somewhat high but the portions are large and can easily be split between two or more people saving you some money. I would highly recommend looking into the Plaza Inn as an option next time you're in Disneyland.
