Guests have been eagerly awaiting any new updates regarding the addition of FastPasses to Toy Story Midway Mania and the Matterhorn Bobsleds since Disney announced their impending arrival in January along with the Disney MaxPass bombshell. It was a quiet release, but Toy Story Midway Mania has begun to distribute traditional FastPasses today! Plus we have a little more information as to what we can expect for FastPasses in the near future.
The Matterhorn has been under massive renovation since late February and clearly much of it is to accommodate the new FastPass return line and distribution area. It's scheduled to reopen on 28 April and we can expect FastPasses will begin operation on the same day.
Disney has yet to release any new information regarding the MaxPass system which will allow guests to use FastPasses digitally for a daily fee. All current FastPass attractions have seen the addition of ticket scanners at the FastPass Return lines and several have already begun testing out the system with paper passes, but that's as far as we've seen thus far. There is still no indication when the MaxPass will begin but preparations will be complete in less than a month. In the meantime, we'll be here waiting for it!
