The Headless Horseman has traditionally ridden through the streets of the Magic Kingdom in Florida to usher in their Halloween parade so when the Imagineers announced he would be coming to California it wasn't a stretch to think that a parade would hit the west coast, too. This parade, however, has a unique Disneyland flare drawing from current Halloween-time traditions in the parks. Here are the details of the new "Frightfully Fun Parade"!
Jack Skellington and the residents of Halloweentown will ride through the streets from The Nightmare Before Christmas bringing with them ghosts and ghouls from their holiday home - the Haunted Mansion! Characters from the ballroom scene and graveyard will dance among Jack and his friends. Because Disneyland is home to New Orleans Square they can easily bring Dr. Facilier into the picture from The Princess and the Frog as he conjures his Shadow Men from the bayou which ushers in a host of Disney villains on parade.
This fun new parade will be performed exclusively at Mickey's Halloween Party which is a separately ticketed event from late September through October. Get your tickets now as some nights have already begun to sell out.
