The time we've all been waiting for is almost here! Whether you're traveling in early June or later this summer, it's important that you spend every second wisely to be able to fully experience everything Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge has to offer. Here's everything we know about Galaxy's Edge so far to help you make decisions and get everything done as quickly as you can. |
Getting Around
Disney has already released images of the new maps for Disneyland Park and Galaxy's Edge is now appearing in the Disneyland mobile app so we have a good idea how to get around already. There are three entrances into the new land: two from Big Thunder Trail (one near Fantasyland, one near Frontierland) and one from Critter Country. As of now, the Critter Country entrance will lead you to some great photo ops, but probably not much else until Rise of the Resistance opens later this year. |
Either entrance from Big Thunder Trail will take you right into the middle of Black Spire Outpost where you will find some great food and beverage options, unique shopping and a direct path to Smugglers Run.
No-Cost Reservations/Boarding Parties
If you're traveling between 31 May - 23 June you must have a no-cost reservation in order to access Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge. Reservations have long been "sold out" but here's what you should know if you already have one.
Guests will be allowed into Galaxy's Edge for a maximum of four hours on their reservation. To speed up entry, guests may check-in up to two hours before their reservation time at Star Wars Launch Bay in Tomorrowland. This no doubt will involve picking up a wristband for each member of your party to show Cast Members before entering the land. Check-in will not be available at the Galaxy's Edge entrance so you must check-in before your reservation window.
Starting 24 June guests will no longer need reservations to access Galaxy's Edge but will need to wait in a virtual queue system similar to FastPass. From the Disneyland mobile app guests will be able to see if access to Galaxy's Edge is open to everyone or restricted to "boarding parties". If it is restricted you can follow the prompts in the app to join a designated boarding party. At that point you are free to enjoy your visit to Disneyland as you would on any other day and you will receive a notification from the app when it is time for your boarding party to enter. For those who do not have a smart phone or the mobile app, Cast Members near the entrance to Galaxy's Edge will be able to assist you in joining a boarding party. These guests will then need to keep an eye on boards throughout the resort displaying which boarding parties are cleared for entry. Once you get the notification you have two hours to enter Galaxy's Edge but then you may spend however much time you would like exploring.

Food
| Are you a bit hungry? There are five different locales in Galaxy's Edge where you can grab something to nibble on from a galaxy far, far away . . . .
It's important to note that most of these locations also sell those specialty Coca-Cola bottles made exclusively for Galaxy's Edge though they will limit them to three per transaction. Ronto Roasters, the Milk Stand and Docking Bay 7 Food and Cargo will all utilize the Mobile Food Ordering option available through the Disneyland mobile app which is a huge time saver and can be your instant ticket inside if the line stretches out the door. |
Shopping
There are plenty of shops big and small throughout Black Spire Outpost for you to grab those special treasures you've always longed for from the movies.
With the exception of Resistance Supply, all shops are centrally located in the Outpost along with all the restaurants so finding your way to all of them should be very easy. Keep in mind that right now all merchandise purchases are limited to one of each item per customer per transaction.
Don't have a no-cost reservation? Or feeling like to have to wait a while for your boarding party to enter? You will be able to find many of the new Star Wars items in other stores around Disneyland including the Emporium and the upper level of Star Wars Launch Bay in Tomorrowland. Use your shopping time wisely before you enter Galaxy's Edge so you can get to the other adventures quicker!
- DOK ONDAR'S DEN OF ANTIQUITIES - The largest and most comprehensive shop on Batuu featuring pre-built "legacy lightsabers", holocrons, and other collectible items.
- BLACK SPIRE OUTFITTERS - Dress like a local with clothing and costumes from Black Spire Outpost itself.
- FIRST ORDER CARGO/RESISTANCE SUPPLY - Located on opposite ends of Galaxy's Edge, choose whether you prefer to dress to match the First Order or join the Resistance.
- CREATURE STALL - Plushes and puppets of your favourite galactic beasts.
- TOYDARIAN TOYMAKERS - Great for kids, here's where they can run amok and find new toys.

Attractions
A grand total of four experiences are officially designated as "attractions" in Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge and there are a few things to note about each of them.
SAVI'S WORKSHOP is a unique experience where guests will get to design and build their own custom light sabers. It is definitely a premium experience and could easily be your most expensive souvenir from all of Disneyland with prices starting just under $200. It is also difficult to get inside since it has a low capacity (only 20 people per half hour) and requires "reservations" which can be made outside the workshop when you first arrive. From what we've heard so far it may still be well worth it if you don't mind the price tag. Here's how it works should you go for it:

The DROID DEPOT is set up in two sections with a basic storefront featuring spare droid parts and accessories and the main show in the back where guests can build their own BB or R-Series astromech units. This is a much more affordable attraction starting at just under $100. Your droid will also interact with certain elements in Galaxy's Edge and be your "guide" around Batuu besides being completely remote controlled and larger than most other droids on the market. For an additional cost you can also purchase "personality" chips which will do exactly what you would think based on the name. Premium pre-built droids can be purchased in the storefront including DJ R3X who is also a bluetooth speaker!
STAR WARS: RISE OF THE RESISTANCE is not yet open and will not until "later this year" however it is a dark ride-style attraction which will take guests from Batuu to a Star Destroyer where you will face off with the First Order in an epic battle. When Galaxy's Edge first opens there will not be much on this side of the land besides Resistance Supply and this is the only major experience to not be located in the middle of Black Spire Outpost. MILLENNIUM FALCON: SMUGGLER'S RUN will take guests aboard the Falcon itself as they do a little smuggling job for Hondo. What sets this ride simulator apart from the others is the fact that you can make decisions during the ride which will effect the overall outcome of the experience. Using the Play Disney Parks app guests will also be able to specify how entrenched they would like to be in the overall story of the land and could find CMs remarking at the exit about the specifics of their journey, positive or negative. The entrance for this ride is easy to find - just look for the Falcon parked at the very back of Galaxy's Edge! |
We'll keep this page updated with new information about Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge as it becomes available or changes, but for now this will be more than enough to ensure you will have a comically good time with everything Batuu has to offer this summer!
