If your family enjoys Disney Junior then there's exciting news coming from Disney California Adventure. This May the long-running "Disney Junior - Live on Stage" show will be getting its first major overhaul since its opening to feature a brand new show experience. This show has been a favourite for younger visitors and has had many minor updates over the years but this is the first time they've announced a change in format large enough to change the guest experience altogether. |
Opening 26 May 2017, the all new "Disney Junior Dance Party" will involve tons of music and dancing in a concert-like show that involves the guests directly into the show. Previous iterations of "Disney Junior - Live on Stage" have been regular theatrical concerts but the new "Dance Party" will interact more with the audience and feature music and characters from current hit shows on Disney Junior including "Mickey and the Roadster Racers", "Doc McStuffins", "Sofia the First" and "The Lion Guard" so there's something that every kid will enjoy!
"Disney Junior - Live on Stage" premiered in Hollywood Land at Disney California Adventure as "Playhouse Disney - Live on Stage" back in 2003. The shows featured in the stage version have been changed over the years as shows come and go on TV, but it's largely stayed the same basic experience the whole time. Normally I would have resigned the attraction to the Imagineering graveyard since they had left it untouched for so long so this announcement breathes new life into it and promises that they intend to keep "Disney Junior Dance Party" around for a long time yet.
Showtimes are scheduled frequently throughout the day from the late morning until the late afternoon so it's easy to catch a time that fits your family's schedule for the day. I would highly recommend this for any family whose kids love any Disney Junior show so they can see their favourite characters come to life.
