Everyone's getting pretty amped up about the latest rumour hitting the internet about Disneyland. It's been anticipated since the FastPass+ system was introduced in Walt Disney World a few years ago, but Disneyland has been testing a new digital FastPass system of their own. While this is still officially a rumour and has not been confirmed by Disney, this one likely and, according to sources, we should be seeing it soon. |
For the past year, Disneyland has been quietly toying around with a digital FastPass system here and there so everyone is waiting for the official announcement. Originally sources expected the new system to be initialized mid-November, but the latest news from more reliable sources pins the date sometime in Spring 2017. Here's the low-down on how this is supposed to work:
In addition to attractions which currently have them, the rumour also says that the following attractions will be added to Disneyland's FastPass system:

- Guests will choose FastPasses either through the Disneyland mobile app or at kiosks placed throughout the parks.
- FastPass selections will be connected to the barcode on admission tickets and scanned at the FastPass Return checkpoints.
- When the spinning light changes from white to green, the guest is cleared to continue through the line.
- Paper FastPasses will be gradually phased out in favour of the digital system.

- Toy Story Midway Mania
