In an effort to curb crowd levels during peak seasons, the Disneyland Resort has changed their annual pass options. Though it may seem at first an effort to hike park prices and gouge customers, there's still an option for any price range depending when you want to visit.
Until this week Disneyland offered two major options for annual passes. The Deluxe pass offered over 300 days of admission to the park along with food and merchandise discounts for $539 while the Premium pass offered year-round admission with no blockout dates for $779.
As reported in a recent Orange County article, there are now three options and, unfortunately, the prices have gone up a bit.
The new Signature pass is the most similar to the old Premium pass. Although it has blockout dates, they are only during the super-busy holiday season. If you were already planning on skipping the crowds right around Christmas and New Year's then don't worry about getting the Signature Plus pass. This isn't simply a price gouging but a way to help control crowd levels during their busiest times. Simply put, if you want an annual pass and also want to visit the park during the immediate holidays then you will be expected to pay a premium.
No matter what, always make sure that you consider all the ins and outs of having an annual pass before you take the leap and purchase one.
