If you were watching the Wonderful World of Disney special in mid-February, you were able to see a new sneak peek into what's in the works for "Star Wars" Land coming to Disneyland Park. Disney has not been forth-coming with a lot of information on the expansion even though construction has already begun, but now we have more of an idea of what to expect when it does arrive in a couple of years. |
- MILLENNIUM FALCON EXPERIENCE - Since it was first announced, Disney has said "Star Wars" Land will include an attraction that will allow guests to ride aboard the most famous ship in the galaxy. Now it's revealed that guests will be "in complete control of the experience" and drive the Falcon through space, dodging obstacles along the way.
- EMPIRE/FIRST ORDER - It hasn't been clear whether all experiences will take place solely during the latest trilogy or not, but now they've specified that guests will get caught in the middle of battles between the resistance and the First Order.
- SHOPPING & DINING - Street markets will exist in "Star Wars" Land similar to what you might find in Mos Eisley. There will also be at least two dining experiences, one upscale option based on a restaurant we may not have yet seen on the silver screen plus the actual Mos Eisley cantina.
- IMMERSION - Disney has been continually emphasising the total guest immersion that will take place there. All CMs will be in full costume and roam around, similar what you see on Buena Vista Street in DCA, and help guests feel like they really are in a galaxy far, far away. It's safe to say this will help be a defining feature of the new addition to Disneyland.
Of course, with all this excitement in the air there have also been a few temporary closures. Click here to learn more about what's down for the year.
