Pixar Pier Ride Transformations

When Pixar Pier opens this June, it's going to be a new immersive experience giving guests a glimpse of the worlds of The Incredibles, Toy Story, Inside Out, and many other fan favourite films. With all of that, though, there are not very many new attractions but instead a re-imagination and transformation of older Paradise Pier classics. In case you've lost track of the changes, here's everything we know is coming including some recent announcements.
  • THE INCREDICOASTER (Formerly California Screamin') - The most anticipated change is the new take on the popular high-speed coaster based on the upcoming film The Incredibles 2. The new attraction will follow the previous track precisely but add characters, lighting and projection effects to the ride to make it follow a story. Recently, Imagineers shared the new paint job on the coaster trains themselves to keep people excited for the fun to come!

  • JESSIE'S CRITTER CAROUSEL (Formerly King Triton's Carousel of the Sea) - Yes, The Little Mermaid has officially moved out of the old Paradise Pier for good, but Jessie is taking King Triton's place on the carousel! Guests will hop aboard some of her critters from her popular TV show Woody's Roundup and take a quick spin. My favourite part? Some of the critters are backwards!
  • GAMES OF THE BOARDWALK - Technically, this is not changing, but Imagineers are updating some of the games. Before, only one booth was Pixar themed but when it reopens they will all have new theming based on different Pixar movies. A small transformation, but still well-deserved!
  • PIXAR PAL-A-ROUND (Formerly Mickey's Fun Wheel) - Thought they were going to keep the name the same? Well, think again. Mickey will keep his spot on the pier side of the ferris wheel but the new name will reflect the fact that each gondola will now feature a different Pixar character, from Joy and Sadness to WALL-E and Miguel.
Of course there are many other changes coming as well, including the introduction of the Lamplight Lounge to replace Ariel's Grotto and the Cove Bar, but we'll be able to experience all of them soon when Pixar Pier opens on 23 June at Disney California Adventure Park!
