Overall Rating: 2 StarsWait, are those the Newsies coming down the street?! Oh, not quite, but they're still high energy and have some great dance moves! If you've been to California Adventure then chances are you've heard or seen this show from a distance. There are a lot of impressive parts of the show, but if you have somewhere to go you can always catch the show later. |
Atmosphere: 3 Stars
Buena Vista Street and the Red Car Trolley are the best backdrop for this news boy show. The whole thing draws its inspiration from the 1920s and 30s in Los Angeles and the area takes the audience back to that time. Down side? There's not much shade.
Entertainment Quality: 2 Stars
The dancers are very talented and do moves that I couldn't dream of doing without a ton of practice. The music is super catchy but unfortunately the dancers only sing live during their solo moments so most of it is recorded. I think it takes away from the experience.
Time Commitment: 2 Stars
The whole show is about 10-15 minutes long which isn't too bad but there's not a lot of actual breaks in the action which make it feel a little bit longer. If the surrounding trees were a little bit larger then it might not feel so bad. I also would recommend just watching a few minutes worth if you can spare. There's not an overarching story to the show so you could theoretically leave at any time and not feel like you're missing out.
