Overall Rating - 4 StarsThe cornerstone of the Disney100 Celebration, Wondrous Journeys is a musical celebration of Disney animation that will leave you wanting for more! This is seriously one of the best shows they've had in a while but don't worry - we won't spoil anything for you . . . that you haven't likely already heard about, that is. |
Atmosphere: 4 Stars
Is there anything better than Main Street, USA at night? I don't think so! These shows are always meant as a "kiss goodnight" and the quintessential place to get such a farewell is near Sleeping Beauty Castle or surrounded by the lamps and lights of Main Street. Of course, it's also great to watch the show from "it's a small world" and, if in a pinch, the Rivers of America, but we typically recommend Main Street since you can actually feel immersed in the show.
Entertainment Quality: 4 Stars
Unlike most nighttime shows, Wondrous Journeys has a stronger singer/songwriter feel with its theme song, "It's Wondrous", but it fits perfectly with the vibe of the show. The best part of the show is the endless references to lesser-known Disney animated films. The whole focus of Wondrous Journeys is a celebration of Walt Disney Animation Studios so they pay tribute to films that may not be considered classics but are still beloved by audiences worldwide.
Oh, and we couldn't talk about this show without geeking out over the Blue Fairy (from Pinocchio) and Baymax flying over the Castle in epic ways! There's way too much to see, but just keep your eyes peeled at all times and you should see most of it.

Time Commitment: 4 Stars
As with most nighttime shows in Disneyland, this show is typically around 15 minutes long so not much of a time commitment at all. If you're okay not viewing the show from immediately in front of the castle, you don't need to reserve a spot more than 15-30 minutes before showtime.
The only negative I'll bring up is the fact that you'll likely find yourself wanting (no, needing) to watch Wondrous Journeys 2, 3, 4 or even more times! There's way too much to see that I guarantee you'll miss a lot your first time.
