You really can't complain much about the Anaheim Hotel's location. It literally takes 5 minutes to walk to the security checkpoint at the Eastern Gate. A shuttle is completely unnecessary and you don't even need to walk past other busy hotel, dining or shopping locations if you don't want to. Just cross Harbor on the corner of the hotel and you're already technically on Disney property. It makes things super convenient at the end of a long day as well since you can be back in your bed in no time.
Fun thing to note - if security at the Eastern Gate didn't take so long, you could theoretically make it to the parks faster from the Anaheim Hotel than any Disneyland Resort Hotel.

The rooms themselves were a bit of a letdown. They were clean, well kept, and had enough room for four people. The beds were comfortable and had fairly new linens. Nothing inside felt new, though. We only really noticed it because the entire hotel had just undergone a major renovation but the furnishings in the room seemed to be exempt from that. We also had some issues with water pressure one morning, which makes sense when you consider this hotel was built in the '60s. There are also limited plugs but they have added in as many as they could and you won't really feel like you've run out. There was nothing bad about the room, just nothing really great.

The lobby building is beautiful and they embrace the fact the hotel was built in the '60s by taking a mid-century modern vibe. The grounds are well-kept, they have permanent corn hole games set up between some of the other buildings, and the pool is olympic-sized which is great if you want to do laps in the morning or if the kids want to dive into the deep end (11 feet deep on one side). The shallow end is small so little ones may not be able to have as much fun as they'd like swimming and the pool itself is not heated, but it's still nice. |

We paid around $200/night for our stay, which is a little bit pricer than you might expect, but we were much more satisfied with everything than we have been at cheaper alternatives in the area. If you're on a tight budget this may not be the best option for you, but if you have some wiggle room financially this could work out and you won't really have any regrets. If you book through Get Away Today Vacations they can save you even more on your trip and make the Anaheim Hotel more doable for your family!
