Just across Harbor Boulevard from the Disneyland Resort is a quaint little hotel/motel mix with a lot of charm for not too bad of a price. It may not be the most affordable option but this has proven to be one of our more preferred Good Neighbor Hotels.
Just down the road from the Resort entrance and right next to the Toy Story Parking Lot, the Red Lion Hotel is a moderately-priced hotel in a great spot. The curb appeal is awesome and they're currently undergoing some renovations, but be aware of what you could be paying for.
The Holiday Inn - Anaheim Resort Area is a very nice hotel. I usually have good luck with the Holiday Inn. I got this hotel on a good deal from Priceline which was helpful. It is a little far to Disneyland, but it is a nice place to stay on a budget.
Luckily for those traveling on a budget, there are many options surrounding the Disneyland Resort which are "Disney Good Neighbor" hotels, including the Fairfield Inn across the street. Fairfield Inns are traditionally very nice moderately priced hotels, but based on my recent experience I can't say that I'll ever consider returning to this particular one.
I had long been excited to stay here since DCA opened in 2001 and they rethemed the Pacific Hotel into Disney's Paradise Pier Hotel with a distinctive beach vibe. This is the least expensive Disneyland Resort Hotel option, but it doesn't skimp on magic. Once you get past the lobby, the beach theming is really fun! (UPDATED: 8 Sept 2017)
