If you're planning a visit to the Disneyland Resort anytime soon, you need to be aware of Disney's guest mask policy and everything you are and aren't allowed to do with them. Read through this simple guide to familiarize yourself before you go. Keep in mind this is based on our experiences at both Disneyland and Walt Disney World and that policies change frequently. |
DO WEAR A MASK!
Masks are required for all guests age 2 and up even if you'd had a vaccine or a negative COVID test. Guests who fail to wear a face covering may be asked to leave the property.
DON'T TAKE OFF YOUR MASK ON PROPERTY
Any time you're on Disney property, you'll need to have your mask on. Even outside and with limited capacity, guests will still be pretty close to each other so it's important that masks stay on. If you're staying at one of the Disneyland Resort Hotels, you'll be allowed to remove your mask in your room, at restaurants and at the pool.

DO WEAR AN APPROPRIATE MASK! All guests age 2 and over need to wear an appropriate face covering. Disney requires that face coverings:
If you don't have a mask that checks these boxes, don't worry! Disneyland has a small mask vending machine outside the temperature screening area for you to pick up a small medical-style mask. |
DON'T REMOVE YOUR MASK IN LINE
Masks need to stay on whenever you're in line, whether for shopping, dining or an attraction. If you need a drink or a small snack, you need to step out of the line briefly and hop back in once you're done.
DO REMOVE YOUR MASK FOR FOOD & DRINK
Of course you can take your mask off when eating or drinking! Step away from crowds, keep yourself physically distanced and you can have your face covering off as long as you are actively eating or drinking. Once you're done, put your mask back on and continue having fun!
Masks can also be removed at restaurants when actively eating or drinking. If you're at a table service restaurant you can keep your mask off as long as you're at the table but need to put it back on if you leave for any reason.

DON'T REMOVE YOUR MASK ON ATTRACTIONS When you're on an attraction your face covering must stay on and continue to cover your nose and mouth. Make sure you keep it on! Cast Members have been known to make reminders on-ride for guests to put their masks back on and interrupt the experience for others. Walt Disney World also deletes any attraction photos that picture unmasked guests. DO WEAR A COMFORTABLE MASK You're going to be wearing that mask an awfully long time. Make sure what you're wearing is comfortable! Nothing is more frustrating than having your mask dig into the back of your ears or pull down hard on your nose or pinch your face. It can also get uncomfortable in the heat if your mask is too thick and makes your face extra sweaty. I recommend the Disney brand masks. They're soft, breathable, show off your Disney side and I can wear mine all day and not even feel it on (as much as you can). |
DON'T REMOVE YOUR MASK FOR PHOTOS
Strike a pose, but keep your mask on! Any photos taken on property should only be of masked guests. PhotoPass photographers will require it and CMs will remind anyone they see not following the rules.
DO HAVE FUN!
Health and safety measures can be frustrating and it can be worrisome that they will take away from the magic, but I promise you that abiding by the rules will create a truly magical time for everyone. The more we all do our part the sooner we'll all get to a point where these measures are no longer needed.
