Overall Rating: 3 Stars
I'm not traditionally a big fan of daytime parades in Disney parks, but I had seen so much online obsessing over the floats and characters in this one that I just had to see it for myself. Am I ever glad I did! The lively music and performers will get you dancing in this parade that doesn't have long left!

Atmosphere: 2 Stars
The streets of Main Street, USA and the rest of the parade route in Disneyland are fun and all, and normally I would give this 3 stars, but since it's a daytime parade that means that the majority of the year you have to deal with the hot SoCal sun to watch the parade. If you choose to stake-out a spot for quite some time you may be able to score something in the shade, but the rest of us will have to find a way to stay cool in the heat.
Entertainment Quality: 4 Stars
The show itself is actually phenomenal! It kicks off with a high-energy drum line and the music and dancing continue all the way until the end. Every float finds some way to incorporate musical instruments into other objects for a whimsical array of Disney magic. My favourite part was seeing characters that are not often in shows at Disneyland. Donald, Jose Carioca, & Panchito Pistoles from The Three Caballeros have their own float, Simba makes an appearance, and Mary Poppins and Bert round everything up in the finale!
As with most great shows at Disneyland, Mickey's Soundsational Parade features a soundtrack that will get in your head - but I promise that's a good thing! "It's a music celebration!..." |
Time Commitment: 3 Stars
The parade itself is a good length - not too long or short. The major problems with time will have to do with where you want to watch the show. I don't generally advocate waiting longer than 30 minutes for a parade but if you want to be sure to get a good shady spot to view everything (or actually sit) then you'll have to wait longer. Check out our parade viewing guide for advice on where the best places to see the parade are and how long to expect to wait in each area.
