As part of the Pixar Fest in the spring, the Pixar Play Parade will be moving next door to Disneyland Park to take over as the daytime parade replacing Mickey's SoundSational Parade. The move coincides with additional floats and parade elements added to the show which Disney has just made public. The new floats are a mixed bag and while some seem pretty awesome others . . . well, let's just get to them.

The Pixar Play Parade is a high-energy romp of classic Disney/Pixar characters with one of the catchiest tunes to come out of Disney Parks in quite some time. To start things off, as with any Disney/Pixar film, the Luxo, Jr. lamp and yellow Pixar ball will lead the way. Russell, Carl Fredrickson, Dug and Kevin from Up will also be joining the parade with Carl's house tethered safely and floating above them.

Joy, Sadness and Bing Bong from Inside Out will be entering with Bing Bong's rocket on top of memory balls. I'm not much for giving dissenting opinions, but the Up and Inside Out floats are things I think I'm going to have to see in person to get behind completely. They don't really look like the most thought-through floats Disneyland has ever designed, but perhaps they'll look better in real life than they do in these concept images.
Pixar Fest, complete with the premiere of the Pixar Play Parade at Disneyland Park, is set to start on 13 April 2018 and run through the summer. Keep checking back for the latest details. What do you think of these new floats?
