Disney announced at D23 this past summer that celebrations of Pixar will be coming next year to Disneyland to coincide with the opening of Pixar Pier. Details of those celebrations, coined Pixar Fest, as well as information about the returning parades in both parks have finally been announced so we can start getting excited for next spring! Come celebrate friendship with Pixar pals in 2018!

Pixar Fest is set to debut on 13 April 2018 and brings a slew of new entertainment with it. Paradise Gardens at DCA will host a Pixar-themed musical troupe and more Pixar characters will be available for meet-and-greets throughout both parks.
The highlight will be the premiere of Together Forever - A Pixar Nighttime Spectacular, a new fireworks show at Disneyland park celebrating the theme of friendship found throughout most Disney/Pixar films. The show will include fireworks (obviously), pyrotechnics, and projections on Sleeping Beauty Castle, the Rivers of America, "it's a small world", and Main Street, USA. Guests will also be able to see Buzz Lightyear fly above the castle during the show!
The Pixar Play Parade will be making the move to Disneyland Park as the daytime parade, replacing Mickey's SoundSational Parade. They will be adding a few new floats to the lineup, starting with the iconic lamp, Luxo, Jr., leading the parade. Other new floats and elements will feature characters from movies such as Up and Inside Out.
What most guests are excited about, though, is the return of Paint the Night to California Adventure! To mark the event and tie it to Pixar Fest a new float based on a Disney/Pixar film will be joining the parade, although we won't see it until later on in the year since Paint the Night will be premiering with the rest of Pixar Fest.
On top of all this, a small Pixar Shorts Film Festival will be shown at the Sunset Showcase Theatre in Hollywood Land at California Adventure rotating between showings of the popular shorts "For the Birds" and "Lava". Other activities, crafts, merchandise and more will be involved and more details are expected to come in the proceeding months so keep a look out for more announcements.
