The countdown is on as the new Pixar Pier opens next month at Disney California Adventure. Details have been slow in coming, but we have officially learned more about the four themed neighborhoods of Pixar Pier and a look at the highlights of the menu at the new Lamplight Lounge. When Pixar Pier opens this June, it's going to be a new immersive experience giving guests a glimpse of the worlds of The Incredibles, Toy Story, Inside Out, and many other fan favourite films. With all of that, though, there are not very many new attractions but instead a re-imagination and transformation of older Paradise Pier classics. In case you've lost track of the changes, here's everything we know is coming including some recent announcements.

Bob Chapek, chairman of Walt Disney Parks & Resorts, revealed yesterday at the D23 Expo even more exciting details of the Star Wars-themed lands coming to both the Disneyland and Walt Disney World Resorts in 2019.  We now know details of the atmosphere of the area, the background story, aspects of the new attractions, and the name of the land itself (nope, it's not actually Star Wars Land...).  The good news?  Fans of the classic Star Tours are in for a great surprise!

Announced yesterday at the D23 Expo, Pixar will soon have a much larger presence at the Disneyland Resort ranging from new spectaculars in Disneyland Park to new attractions and a "new" land at Disney California Adventure.  The news is good for all, for the most part, but there are some massive changes in the works happening in a very short period of time.  Here's the latest updates on the new announcements.

If your family enjoys Disney Junior then there's exciting news coming from Disney California Adventure.  This May the long-running "Disney Junior - Live on Stage" show will be getting its first major overhaul since its opening to feature a brand new show experience.  This show has been a favourite for younger visitors and has had many minor updates over the years but this is the first time they've announced a change in format large enough to change the guest experience altogether.

Disney has finally announced the official opening date for the hastily conceived and constructed Guardians of the Galaxy - Mission: BREAKOUT at Disney California Adventure, but it's not coming alone.  Hollywood Land will play host to a summer's worth of Marvel entertainment and experiences designed for all ages, some of which may even be continuing after the summer is over.

With the upcoming closure of Paint the Night at Disneyland many were worried that there will be nothing to replace the nighttime spectacular until Fantasmic! returns next summer, but a week ago Disney Parks announced that soon the iconic Main Street Electrical Parade will return to its home in California for a limited engagement.  The announcement also comes with news on the fate of Paint the Night​.
